Hiking - Walking: Around Felixstowe Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: 4 Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny but chilly Max Speed: Distance Covered: 3.81 miles (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
Sunday 22nd January – walk **** Around Felixstowe via the Grove woods –
sunny periods and cold.
The really cold weather continues with another good frost but thankfully
the breeze was much lighter today. Usual morning at home doing exercises
and had some good news when the February Spotlight on Felixstowe magazine
came through our letterbox and for the second month running one of my pics
was on the cover, always much appreciated:) Then had lunch before setting
off on a walk heading inland away from the prom which was probably busy
being a Sunday. Reached the Abbey Woods and soon discovered that the frost
had all melted making it a little muddy and slippery underfoot! Walked
slowly through the Grove woods with no crows in sight, just the odd robin
but no squirrels today! We continued out the back of the wood to Gulpher
Road spotting a heron in the ditch, then a little way up the road before
turning back across the fields to the playing fields, no feeling cold at
all thanks to the sunshine and light winds. Walking back through Felixstowe
town centre to the cliff top to see the sea before returning home for a hot
water bottle, a cuppa and a shortbread biscuit. Good night on TV with first
the Pottery Throwdown followed by Happy Valley both of which are really
good:)
